NEW BUSINESS:  Committee    on    Committees:        Joe    Cato    presented    recommendations    from    the    Committee    on Committees to fill vacant committee positions as listed below. Personnel Committee:  John Bonelli, confirmed through 2019 .  APPROVED by show of hands. Jim Lee, confirmed through 2019.  APPROVED by show of hands. Adolfo DeMontalvo, confirmed through 2019.  APPROVED by show of hands.  Comment:      Joe   Cato:      The   Committee   on   Committees   has   a   big   task.      I   had   Betty   put   in   the   bulletin requirements   for   different   committees   that   are   open   now.   We   need   to   put   the   word   out.      Let   someone on   the   committee   know,   either   me,   Paul   Sauls,   Jim   Taylor,   Lela   Yeargain,   Kay   Main,   or   Mark   Creighton by   giving   us   some   names.      Our   church   has   a   lot   of   committee   vacancies.      We   are   trying   to   take   the most    important    committees    first,    such    as    the    House    and    Grounds    Committee,    the    Personnel Committee,   and   the   Finance   Committee.   We   have   until   August   to   fill   positions.   If   you   have   someone   in mind,   talk   to   them   first,   then   tell   a   committee   member   or   have   them   contact   the   front   office   to   let   us know   which   committee   they   would   be   willing   to   serve   on   if   they   have   a   gift   in   that   area.      We   do   not want   people   doing   something   that   they   are   not   feeling   comfortable   doing.      We   want   people   to   feel   like they can utilize their gifts, be productive, and have a satisfying time on a committee.  Comment:      Kevin   Simmons:      Just   to   echo   what   Joe   said,   members   who   have   been   here   for   a   while know   this.      New   members   may   not   know   that   we   have   our   committees   on   a   rotational   basis.      We   are not   like   some   churches   where   committees   are   pretty   much   static   and   stay   constant   year   by   year.      Our committees   rotate   through.      So   with   that,   we   have   to   continue   to   look   for   volunteers   to   man   these committees.      If   you   know   of   someone   to   serve,   or   if   you   think   you   have   a   spiritual   gift   or   talent,   let   one of these people Joe mentioned know.  OLD BUSINESS:  None. ANNOUNCEMENTS:      Kevin   Simmons:       Deacon   and   yokefellow   nomination   forms   are   available   in   the church   welcome   area.      If   you   have   someone   who   fits   the   qualifications   of   1st   Timothy,   chapter   3, verses   8-13,   and   has   had   one   year   membership   at   the   church,   then   we   will   certainly   consider   them   as   a deacon or yokefellow. ADJOURNMENT:      Motion   to   adjourn   by   Ron   Lowe   and   seconded   by   Morgan   Miller.      APPROVED    by show of hands.    _____________________________ ____________________________ Bonnie Quinley, Church Clerk Kevin Simmons, Moderator
